Shawn's Assessment Notes · Evidence

Evidence Before Assertion

A confident explanation is not evidence. Assessment conclusions become defensible when assertions are supported by records, configurations, tickets, logs, demonstrations, and interviews that converge on the same operational reality.

What the assessor sees

Build an evidence path that can be followed and defended.

  • Start with the assessment objective—not a screenshot collection.
  • Use evidence that shows implementation over time, not only a point-in-time configuration.
  • Corroborate documents with technical evidence and interviews.
  • Make the evidence path easy for an assessor to trace from requirement to implementation.
